This started as a project to practice texturing in cinema4d to push my knowledge of 3d and more used t0 using the node editor. Along the way I also learned how to scatter objects which made the world a lot more believable. I also wanted to make the water interact with the ship, so I used a cloth tag and gravity on a plane and dragged an invisible object over the top of it.
